The MAGA minions are desperate to avoid Friday's hard deadline for surrender in Georgia. In Meadows' case, he's hoping that he can delay long enough for his request to move the case to a federal court to succeed. He believes that by moving the trial he'll be able to land a jury pool polluted by hardcore Republicans who will be more sympathetic to his traitorous actions. Clark on the other hand, justified his prissy request by suggesting that it would be "too much of a headache" to travel to Atlanta in time. Uh, did you try not committing federal crimes?

Gov. Greg Abbott continued his steak of cartoonishly evil behavior by ordering the busing of 37 migrants into Los Angeles in the midst of a tropical storm that was, by some predictions, expected to lead to dangerous mass floodings and gale force winds. LA Mayor Karen Bass correctly characterized the decision to endanger the lives of "families and toddlers" as a "despicable act beyond politics." GOP "family values" in a nutshell.

US healthcare workers focus on pay and understaffing in fight for new contracts
The historic wave of pro-labor movements that has swept America in the past few years continues to gain strength as unions representing more than 85,000 healthcare workers held pickets at 50 facilities across California, Washington, Oregon, and Colorado amid new contract negotiations as their current union contracts are set to expire on 30 September. The negotiations at Kaiser Permanente are the third largest set of contract negotiations in the US in 2023, behind the 340,000 workers at UPS who will be voting on a tentative agreement this month. Workers fighting for a new contract have criticized Kaiser Permanente over chronic understaffing, high workloads that worsened during the Covid-19 pandemic, and lagging wages as the cost of living and inflation has risen substantially in recent years.

Judge hears arguments about extremely dangerous anti-migrant buoys in Rio Grande
A federal judge heard arguments from the state of Texas and Biden's Justice Department about whether or not state authorities should be forced to remove massive, deadly, and clearly illegal buoys that Greg Abbott has had installed to stop migrants crossing the river that divides Texas from Mexico. The murderous barriers have already caused at least two deaths and if they're not removed soon that number is certain to multiply. Not only should they be forced to remove the horrific barriers, Greg Abbott and his staff should be facing charges for killing people.
