Next Wednesday night, the GOP presidential candidates will go under the lights for their very first debate of the cycle. 🫠

While those of us deep in political news may feel like we can’t escape the barrage of vitriol and snipes between candidates, a lot of Americans will get their first glimpse into the mess, which means this debate is an opportunity to help define the narrative.

That’s why the Vote Save America Community is hosting a social media organizing workshop on Wednesday at 8:15pm ET. We’ll talk through messaging and tactics and you’ll learn how you can leverage your personal network for good in a big media moment. During the debate, we’ll share content in the Vote Save America Community Slack, so now is a great time to join if you haven’t already!

We’re very excited to be joined by Crooked Media CEO Lucinda Treat, who will be talking about the political media landscape and how we can help shape the conversation.

In addition to a primer on social media organizing, we’re also talking about how we stay sane while we marinate in the noxious stew that is the GOP presidential primary. We’ve dubbed next week “Zen Week” – and we’ll be crowdsourcing ideas from the amazing VSA Community to create our own Zen Week Starter Pack. Each day in the VSA Community Slack, we'll provide a prompt for you to share how you stay zen through it all. What are we listening to? What are we cooking? What are we doing outdoors? There will always be opportunities to take action to save democracy. We also need to find moments to take care of ourselves and each other.
