Folks, I just left my check-in with our finance team and I have some bad news to share with you:

We are only a few short weeks away from our first FEC deadline of the year and we're still not on pace to reach our most important goal of the campaign so far.

I'm a little worried because our race is a top target for Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and their billionaire buddies who will spend whatever it takes to defeat me.

If our campaign doesn't post the strongest numbers possible at the end of the quarter, then Republican mega-donors and right-wing groups will think Minnesota is ripe for the taking.

That's why it's so important we hit our monthly goals before the end of the quarter. To compete with the kind of cash the GOP is showboating, we need a surge of grassroots contributions in the next few hours from folks like you. So, I'm asking:

Can I count on you to donate any amount meaningful to you ahead of our end-of-month deadline to keep us on track for our first FEC deadline of the year? I wouldn't ask if it wasn't so important.
