P4A announces new research teams investigating the racial wealth gap
We&rsquo;re pleased to announce eight new research teams as part of our portfolio of work investigating policies to promote health equity and racial justice. With topics including guaranteed income, payday lending, reparations, and public banking, these research projects will evaluate key public- and private-sector policies and help build the evidence base demonstrating their effects on the racial wealth gap.

Evaluating the impact of Nebraska&rsquo;s Indian Child Welfare Act
Earlier this summer as the US Supreme Court issued its decision on the Indian Child Welfare Act, preserving preference for Native tribes when American Indian children are adopted, P4A grantees at the Nebraska Indian Child Welfare Coalition had already begun evaluating the impacts of the law.

Engaging the community to enrich and strengthen research practices
Incorporating participatory methods as an integral part of research can make the results more meaningful to the people it seeks to serve. P4A grantees at MDRC formed a Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG) as part of their study assessing the effects of New Jersey&rsquo;s 2017 criminal legal system reforms and found that treating the LEAG as part of the research team was key to their success.
