We had a jam-packed SCC meeting last weekend, and we're excited to share several updates with you. 2024 Caucus, Meet Brad Bonham and more... Dear Supporter, We had a jam-packed State Central Committee meeting last weekend and we’re excited to share several updates with you. Caucus Date & Presidential Caucus Vote First, we are thrilled to announce that the Utah Republican Party Caucus will take place on Super Tuesday, March 5, 2024. In addition, the Utah Republican Party has chosen to conduct a Presidential Caucus Vote at the 2024 Caucus in lieu of a traditional primary. This means that registered Republicans will be able to express their preference for a Republican presidential candidate at their neighborhood caucus meeting. Your participation will determine Utah’s vote at the 2024 National Republican Convention to nominate a Republican Presidential candidate. You may find our letter to the Lieutenant Governor to this effect here. We believe that face to face conversations with our neighbors are the best way to choose who should represent us, whether that’s county or state delegates, or our president. Caucus is open to everyone who is a registered Republican and is held locally in your precincts - a short drive away from home. In our conversations with presidential candidates, they are excited to engage with you leading up to these caucus meetings. Instead of who has the biggest war chest and spends the most on ads, the caucus system forces candidates to engage with voters on a more personal level. LEARN MORE ABOUT CAUCUS We do know, however, that there are some who may not be able to find childcare, get time off from work or have another conflict. That’s why we are committed to finding ways to ensure that as many registered Republicans as possible can attend. We will be announcing more details in concert with the county GOP chairs in the coming weeks and months. We cannot stress enough how important it is for us to choose another president to replace President Biden. Our country is headed in the wrong direction and we need your help to change our course. In the meantime, mark your calendars for March 5, 2024. New National Committeeman, Brad Bonham Second, we are pleased to announce that Brad Bonham won a special election last weekend to become our new National Committeeman. “I’m honored to serve the Republican Party and our candidates in this capacity,” said Brad Bonham. “I look forward to working with Chairman Axson, the Utah GOP leadership team, and the SCC to broadcast our party’s bold conservative message, reengage donors and increase Utah’s conservative majority.” Bonham entered Utah politics in 2018 as a candidate for Utah House of Representatives. Since that time, he been an active supporter and donor to the Utah Republican party and Republican candidates across the state. Bonham campaigned on an ambitious goal to raise $1,000,000 for the Utah GOP and promote Utah Republican values and constitutional conservatism at the RNC. “We are thrilled to welcome Committeeman Bonham to Utah’s Republican leadership team,” said Chairman Axson. “He brings a needed background in fundraising and strategy, having achieved great success as an entrepreneur and investor. I have seen Brad first hand over the years and trust his commitment to help me reignite the fire of the Utah GOP. With Brad on our team, we are one step closer to protecting Utah’s future and keeping Utah Red.” Brad is the founder and retired CEO of Walker Edison - a Utah based ready-to-assemble furniture company with customers around the globe. Under his leadership, Walker Edison was consistently recognized by Utah Business Magazine and Mountainwest Capital Network as one of Utah’s fastest-growing companies and maintained a strong philanthropic commitment to Utah communities. Brad begins his term immediately at the RNC Summer meeting this week in Milwaukee. Don't Forget to Vote by September 5th! Lastly, don’t forget to vote by September 5, 2023 in the municipal primaries. It’s critical that we vet municipal candidates for their conservative values, even if they are running in a nonpartisan race. Please join us in supporting those candidates committed to the principles and platform of the Utah Republican Party. Sincerely, Robert Axson, Chair Kim Coleman, Vice Chair Stafford Palmieri Sievert, Secretary McKay Newell, Treasurer Upcoming Events DONATE TO THE UTGOP www.utgop.org Utah Republican Party | 15 W South Temple, Ste 250, Salt Lake City, UT 84101 Unsubscribe
