Americans are angry, John.

We are righteously angry at those who only offer “thoughts and prayers” or “faith without works” as our children are massacred in their classrooms.

We’re angry at politicians who hold the Second Amendment in higher regard than the safety of our young people.

We’re angry at legislators who readily rally their bases behind dog-whistle calls to “combat crime” yet put NRA dollars ahead of gun control legislation that would save children’s lives.

More than 87 percent of voters support criminal background check requirements for all gun buyers. Yet, certain elected officials deliberately ignore the will of the very same people who elected them.

We cannot continue to let this stand. Democrats in Congress have made the first steps toward passing gun violence prevention measures in decades with the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. Now we need your help continuing our work.
