John get ready for the Trump apologists...
Tomorrow night will be a crucial indicator of the rhetoric and talking points that the GOP plan to run on throughout the race into 2024. As Trump has reportedly decided to skip the debates, the remainder of the candidates will be left to compete with the ghosts of MAGA past.
Those claiming qualification for the debate include DeSantis, Chris Christie, Nikki Haley, Former VP Pence, Vivek Ramaswamy, Asa Hutchinson, Tim Scott, and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum.
Expect little substance, a lot of excuses for Trump and attacks on the Department of Justice, and some self-reports that the GOP cannot help but do to itself. Most notably, candidates will more than likely be asked to clarify their stances on abortion, Medicare, Social Security, and the US-Mexico border.
