John,
Why is tomorrow night's GOP presidential primary debate important?
I’ve had August 23 circled on the calendar for weeks because it’s an important proving ground for candidates.
Paula, a suburban mom from Derry (a large New Hampshire town along the Massachusetts border) told an Americans for Prosperity staffer at her door last week:
“I’m not sold on anyone yet. I’m watching the debate so I can hear everyone’s plan to turn the economy around.”
Paula’s top desire for 2024 is a winner who can end Bidenomics for good. It’s a sentiment AFP activists hear over and over at the doors they knock in New Hampshire to ask voters about their most important policies and who they favor for president.
Maybe you’ve been looking forward, like Paula has, to the debate tomorrow.
What is your focus as you tune in tomorrow night? Here are a few things I’ll be paying close attention to as I watch the debate. - Who can break the downward spiral of broken politics? Change our trajectory on policy? Turn the page on the past? And WIN?
- Who has a vision for the future that speaks to the concerns of the American people?
- Who can focus on crucial policies, and stay above the fray of divisive rhetoric?
To date, AFP activists and staff have knocked on 2.6 million+ doors across the country, including Arizona, Arkansas, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and more.
These one-on-one conversations with voters like Paula help AFP understand what voters care about and what they want to hear from candidates heading into tomorrow night's debate.
And tomorrow night is an opportunity for those candidates to prove they have what it takes.
Thank you for your continued support.
All the best, —Emily Emily Seidel President and CEO Americans for Prosperity |
