The Left’s witch hunt against President Donald J. Trump continues.

Last week, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis indicted President Trump and 18 of his allies in a probe related to the 2020 election in Georgia. This latest effort in the Peach State marks Trump’s fourth sham indictment in just four months’ time, revealing the Left’s disgraceful desperation.

In fact, this desperation runs so deep that the fix was in long before the grand jury convened. As you likely know, the Fulton County Court’s website displayed a document that listed the same charges included in Trump’s indictment hours before it was unsealed. Even worse, these charges were posted before the grand jury completed deliberations!

Total miscarriage of justice.

Yet you and I both know that this case isn’t about the 2020 election. It’s about the 2024 election.

For months, Democrats have dangerously and shamelessly abused the power of prosecution to interfere in the upcoming election because they’re terrified of facing President Trump at the ballot box next November. In total, Trump now faces 91 bogus charges across four different jurisdictions: Georgia, Florida, New York, and Washington, D.C.

Undoubtedly, this sets up President Trump, the Republican Party’s presumptive 2024 presidential nominee, to face court battles and appearances in the early months of the busy primary season. But make no mistake, this is by design. The Left is exploiting our justice system to limit President Trump’s time and resources during the 2024 campaign.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden — who infamously hid in his basement for the entirety of the 2020 campaign — can continue avoiding accountability and the American people.

As our efforts, led by the House Oversight Committee, move forward, I want to ensure you and your family are fully informed on the latest developments — especially since the mainstream media refuses to report the truth about our bombshell findings.

Congress will have a grueling spending fight on its hands when members return to Washington in a few weeks. We’ll only have a few legislative days before government funding expires on September 30th — leaving a very short timeframe to pass and enact all 12 appropriations bills. Therefore, both House and Senate leadership are preparing for a short-term extension of government funding through a Continuing Resolution (CR) to avoid a government shutdown. Yet CRs are notoriously used to kick the can down the road, intentionally forcing members to engage in a spending battle in December prior to leaving town for Christmas. Last year, this tactic led to a disastrous omnibus spending bill, which was chock full of Democrats’ Big Government Socialist policies and pricey pork projects.

Given our dire economic outlook, we simply cannot go down this road again.

Consequently, I joined my House Freedom Caucus colleagues in opposing any “clean” CR that advances President Biden’s radical agenda while also abdicating our fundamental duty of responsibly funding the government. In fact, we will reject any spending measure that fails to secure the border, address the weaponization of the Department of Justice, and end the woke policies that continue to undermine our military. Lastly, we will oppose any blank check for Ukraine in any supplemental appropriations bill. Ultimately, we strongly believe that it’s time to use the power of the purse to defund Joe Biden’s reckless, woke, and bloated agenda. The stakes are too high to greenlight the Left’s out-of-control spending and harmful policies, which is why we’re prepared to hold the line yet again in our fight to cut spending and get our nation back on track for the American people. Please know that as a new and conservative member of the House Appropriations Committee, I look forward to helping lead this effort when we return to Washington in September.
