Biden’s Maui Mess
We’ve been told repeatedly that Joe Biden’s specialty is empathy and retail politics. I never bought into that myth. I remember how he smeared my good friend Clarence Thomas ([link removed]) . Joe Biden is not a “nice guy ([link removed]) .”
But the ravages of time and age have clearly caught up to him. The performance of the president yesterday at the site of an American tragedy was sad and disturbing.
When Biden went to Dover Airforce Base to meet the caskets of our heroes returning from his Kabul fiasco, he was caught looking at his watch ([link removed]) . As we heard recently from the parents of those soldiers, he told some of them that he knew how they felt ([link removed]) because his son, Beau, also came home in a flag-draped coffin.
That’s just not true! But there are only two explanations for why Biden would say it: Either he lied to these grieving parents or he really believes his son died in combat in Iraq and not at Walter Reed Hospital from a brain tumor.
It’s telling that Biden has never visited ([link removed]) East Palestine, Ohio. His handlers know he couldn’t handle it.
Meanwhile, over the last two weeks, Biden has been totally oblivious to the suffering in Maui. He initially blew off questions about the disaster, saying, “No comment ([link removed]) .”
The backlash was so strong that White House officials have been scrambling to get Biden off the Delaware beaches and off the shores of Lake Tahoe ([link removed]) in order to see the devastation in Maui as quickly as possible.
Yet when they finally succeeded in getting him there, Biden proceeded to tell the people who just lost everything that he knows how they feel ([link removed]) because his kitchen once caught on fire. He has routinely lied ([link removed]) about this small kitchen fire, just like he lies about his son’s death.
Once again, “Mr. Nice Guy” made himself the issue.
Some are attempting to excuse the president’s bungled performance on the time zone difference, which made it feel like he was speaking in the middle of the night. Really?
The sad reality is that it is always the “middle of the night” for Joe Biden, no matter what time of day it is. He is not capable of doing the job without, at best, embarrassing the country or, at worst, making a miscalculation that ends up getting people killed.
I can’t help but recall that during the Trump years there were multiple leaks about how people inside the Trump White House were intercepting reports and going behind the president’s back to make sure they kept the country safe from Donald Trump.
It was all garbage. The president vowing to put America First wasn’t a threat to the country – the Deep State determined to undermine him was the real threat ([link removed]) !
But is there anybody in the Biden White House today who is working around the president with the best interests of the country in mind? This president clearly is a threat to our national interests in more ways than one.
Standing For Life
There’s an interesting court case playing out right now in Washington, D.C. Ten pro-life activists ([link removed]) are facing charges under the FACE Act that could send them to jail for 11 years because they blockaded a notorious abortion clinic. What makes this case unique is that these are liberal activists, members of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising.
Not counting what’s happening inside Washington’s abortion clinics, the city is currently experiencing a major surge in violence ([link removed]) . Homicides are up 28% compared to last year. But local officials seem curiously disinterested with the bullets flying into people’s homes or skyrocketing carjackings.
The entire political establishment of our nation’s capital, which voted 92% to 5% for Joe Biden, is obsessed with two things: Putting Middle Americans in jail ([link removed]) for doing what radical leftists do all the time ([link removed]) and locking up the people who dare to try to stop the violence that takes place every day inside abortion clinics.
The progressive movement is all in on destroying innocent human life, and the left tolerates no dissent. Progressive pro-lifers are as rare as short NBA players.
The fact that this group is such an outlier increases the likelihood that DC leftists will smash them in court, and there is nothing restraining the far-left prosecutor in Washington, D.C.
Nevertheless, they remain confident in the righteousness of their cause.
Lauren Handy told LifeSiteNews, “There is no shame in passionately and vulnerably loving our neighbors as ourselves. The preborn are our neighbors. And we have a moral and ethical obligation to love them in action and word.”
Will Goodman, another defendant in this case, said, “I’m sad, not because we’re being persecuted by the federal government, but because the federal government is persecuting the unborn. . . The battle belongs to God. And, so, we place it in His hands.”
Please join me in praying for these liberal Christians who are willing to resist abortion. I pray we have the same courage in defense of our values as these progressive activists have demonstrated.
If the country continues on its current trajectory, particularly with the election interference we are witnessing now and what the left is doing to our children in the public schools, I believe we are heading into a time where widespread civil disobedience may be necessary.
And the conservative, pro-family, pro-life movement needs allies anywhere we can get them.
The Stage Is Set
The Republican National Committee and Fox News announced this morning which candidates have qualified for the first GOP presidential primary debate and how they will appear on stage tomorrow night.
The setup ([link removed]) was determined by the candidates’ standings in the polls, with the most popular candidates being “front and center.” At the center of the stage will be Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy.
On the left side of the stage and moving toward the center will be former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Vice President Mike Pence.
On the right side of the stage and moving toward the center will be North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump is standing his ground, defending his decision to skip the debate and refusing to be a punching bag for the other candidates.
Fox News is reportedly retaliating by banning Trump surrogates ([link removed]) from the debate “spin room,” thereby preventing them from conducting any interviews at the debate site.
Trump seemingly has little to worry about. The latest Morning Consult ([link removed]) poll finds Trump at 58%, 44 points ahead of closest competitor, Ron DeSantis, who is at 14%. Vivek Ramaswamy broke into double digits with 10%.
The latest Rasmussen poll ([link removed]) has Trump at 49%, followed by Ramaswamy at 11% and DeSantis at 10%.
