Small Primary Care Practices Lacked COVID-19 Vaccines
In their Datawatch article in the August issue of Health Affairs, Shiying Hao and coauthors examine vaccine availability following the development of COVID-19 vaccines.

Using data from the PRIME Registry, a clinical data registry that includes nearly 1,000 primary care practices and five million patients, they find that of the PRIME Registry practices examined, about 40 percent "did not deliver or capture COVID-19 vaccinations."

Hao and coauthors also determine that of the PRIME Registry patients with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine recorded, 18.7 were fully vaccinated, but only about 5 percent were vaccinated in PRIME Registry practices.

They conclude that further engagement with primary care practices to improve vaccine receipt and vaccine data could help reduce vaccine disparities.
