Britain is a country built in no small part by immigrants.

It is a simple fact that immigrants put far more into our economy than they take out. 

You’re far more likely to be treated by an immigrant in hospital than to stand behind one in a queue to be seen. 

That’s why we’ve launched an urgent campaign, asking MPs to oppose the implementation of the new, ‘points-based’ immigration system.

The new system is set to replace freedom of movement by 1 January, 2021. Sign our petition, and send a message to your MP before it’s too late.

The exclusion of so-called “unskilled” workers from the UK will create a shortage of crucial labour. 

According to research by the IPPR, two-thirds of EU migrants currently contributing to our healthcare would not have been allowed into the country under the new system. 

The NHS relies on the hard-work and compassion of immigrants. Vital work like caring, driving and cleaning, on which our public services rely, would be deemed unimportant under this immigration policy.

Now more than ever, we need to create an inclusive and open society.

Think of all the people in your life who might not be awarded sufficient ‘points’, and might have been denied a chance to live here under the proposed scheme. Think of all that potential the country would have lost if they’d not been given a chance. 

This policy not only threatens us with a shortage of crucial, yet undervalued, labour. It sends a message that the UK sees no capacity for improvement in the people who want to start a life here.
