Friend,
When I’m in the district, I have a strict open-door policy for our community. And one of the biggest reasons people come in to see me is to get assistance filing their property taxes and rent rebates.
Rising costs over the last few years have put countless homeowners across the Commonwealth in tight financial spots. While many of our senior homeowners have relied on Pennsylvania’s Property Tax and Rent Rebate program to make ends meet, eligibility requirements have prevented other vulnerable homeowners from receiving property tax relief.
That is, until now. This month, Governor Shapiro officially signed off on the Expansion of the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program for the 2023 tax year — and I was proud to support this expansion from day one.
This is the first time in 16 years that we’ve broadened the eligibility requirements needed to qualify for property tax relief. Now, seniors, widowers, and Pennsylvanians with disabilities are able to access the support they need and cut costs in the process.
As we head back to session in September, my focus remains on delivering for all Pennsylvanians — from our students to our seniors. Help keep up the momentum so we can continue passing progressive policy by pitching in $5, $10, or whatever you’re able today.

Issues don’t have to be “buzzy” or “glamorous” to be important. Policies like this are crucial to ensuring every single Pennsylvanian can afford a roof over their head while providing the resources and support they need to make it happen.
