We’re covering the stories the corporate media never will.Friend,
Last Monday, Donald Trump was indicted by a grand jury for crimes
related to his attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election in
Georgia.
But on the same day, Common Dreams reported a different kind of
indictment when Global Witness released a damning report showing that
just five oil companies will emit more than one-eighth of the total
climate pollution needed to push the planet past a catastrophic tipping
point by 2050.
Which of these is the greater crime? And why was one of these stories
given wall-to-wall coverage while the corporate media entirely ignored
the other?
Common Dreams was founded to cover the issues that the corporate media
never will—the issues that require a well-informed citizenry to take
action and demand change. Our work is needed now more than ever, and
we’re entirely dependent on the donations of readers like you to fund
our work.
