In just a second, I am going to ask you to make a donation to my reelection. Here’s why this is such an important request.

The truth is, every campaign has fundraising goals they have to reach, no matter how well they seem to be doing. Because when you’re talking about a U.S. Senate seat, one moment of weakness could invite a lot of trouble.

You could be up a few points, have a bad fundraising quarter, and wake up one morning with some super PAC or the NRA spending big to beat you.

And right now we are behind where we need to be for our fundraising goals this quarter. The slowdown that happens in fundraising during the summer months puts a lot more pressure on these final weeks before the September 30th FEC deadline.

So I am racing to close that gap a bit. Because falling short of our goals this year can invite a lot of problems. We cannot afford to deal with a self-funder or millions of dollars in dark money in this race.
