Today, with your help we could stop the Atlantic Coast Pipeline in its tracks!
As you read this, the Supreme Court is hearing a case on the ACP. The court will decide whether this fracked gas pipeline can cut across the Appalachian Trail -- scarring its pristine landscape. Our team is outside the courtroom, blocking the street with a giant banner that reads “The pipeline stops here.”
This Supreme Court case may be a tipping point in the fight for a fossil fuel free future. It could set precedent and determine whether our most protected wild places are safe from fossil fuel infrastructure.
But we aren’t waiting for the court to stop this pipeline. We’re taking action, demanding change and putting our bodies on the line to show that we’re going to stop the ACP, and all pipelines, no matter what. Congress must rein in fossil fuel projects like the ACP. But our legislators will only act under pressure from constituents like you.

If the Supreme Court doesn’t stop the ACP, more than just the Appalachian Trail is at risk.
Here what’s at stake:
- The ACP will pollute our land and waterways while cutting through communities across Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina.
- It would carry enough fracked gas to generate over 67 million metric tons of climate pollution per year -- the equivalent of 20 average U.S. coal plants.
- And it would require 38 miles of mountaintop removal -- damaging farm and forest land.
What’s more, the ACP would disproportionately harm poor, African-American and Indigenous communities all along the route. Part of the project would involve opening one of the largest fracked gas compressor stations ever built in Union Hill -- an African-American community of great historical and cultural significance in Virginia. And thirty thousand Native peoples live in census tracts considered part of the project area in North Carolina alone.
We know the Supreme Court is influenced by cultural change and public outrage. After people across the country boldly stood up for LGBTQ+ rights, the court had no choice but to make same-sex marriage the law of the land.
Right now, activists from up and down the East Coast are protesting in front of the court to put that pressure on the ACP. From coast to coast we must demand our legislators join our fight against future fossil fuel infrastructure. This battle starts today with a call to your legislator!

This isn’t just about stopping one pipeline, it’s about stopping all future pipelines -- including one that could someday run through your community. If we don’t collectively fight fossil fuel infrastructure now, we could all suffer later.
Momentum is building against the fossil fuel industry. Now, the American people -- led by those who are directly impacted by fossil fuel projects -- are sounding the alarm about this dirty industry. This is the political atmosphere we need to push the court to act.
The Supreme Court and Congress can’t just look the other way as projects like the ACP continue harming communities and permanently scarring our most cherished wild places. Together we can push our legislators to protect us from future pipeline devastation and show the groundswell of public outrage to push the Supreme Court further in the direction of justice and environmental protection.
