About the job
As the Agency Risk and Emergency Manager (AREM), you will lead the work in mitigating risk through development and application of industry best practices in risk management, emergency planning and preparedness, disaster recovery, workplace health and safety and ancillary programs. You will work as the leader in response to emergencies impacting the agency and, in that role, will act as an incident commander and provide clear support and direction to agency leadership. You will serve as the highest-level emergency management expert within the agency, exercising delegated authority on behalf of the Agency Director during critical incidents, directing agency employees and resources as necessary.
