Dear John,
The United States has higher rates of gun violence than any other developed country in the world. We have had over 430 mass shootings in our country this year—and it’s only August. But as you know, gun laws work, and at Giffords Law Center we are fighting harder than ever before for commonsense gun safety legislation.
This month is actually National Make-A-Will Month, and it’s a critical moment for you to join us at the forefront of the fight for justice and legislative reform not just today, but for generations to come. We’re so grateful for your support and hope you take this month to put your affirmations into action to support our cause.
Here are the commitments you make when you create or update your will:
- I will protect my loved ones—including identifying a guardian for any minor children and pets.
- I will plan for the distribution of all of my assets—from homes and cars to family photo albums and heirlooms.
- I will make a lasting commitment to fighting for the laws, policies, and programs proven to save lives long into the future.
Create my will
Estate planning is important for all adults, but only two-thirds of Americans have an up-to-date will. Everyone should have access to making important decisions that affect their lives and those they care about.
That’s why we partnered with FreeWill. Using their online resource, you can make or update your will in just 20 minutes at no cost. If you include a gift to Giffords Law Center in your will, you’ll create a legacy that changes policies and challenges injustice.
Thanks so much for your consideration and continued support.
Best,
Chris
