Headlines like these are one of the reasons we work so hard to elect out LGBTQ+ candidates: they fight back when bigots try to take away our rights. And that's exactly what the LGBTQ+ elected officials and allies in Virginia are doing. By refusing to enforce Governor Youngkin's hateful policies, they're protecting LGBTQ+ kids and their families.

Look, Youngkin is just one of many Governors that have made it their mission to dismantle equality in their states. Across the country, bigots are trying to ban Pride flags and disciplining teachers for hanging them, saying they're too "political, quasi-political or controversial." One right-wing troll even rented property in a Virginia school district so he could harass the local school board about their LGBTQ+-friendly policies! He called the school’s trans-inclusive policies “indefensible” and said we are “indoctrinating kids into their religious cult.”

It's ridiculous! We can't let their hatred go unanswered.
