Good day Friend,
Tis the season to be outside! DC Jobs With Justice is out and about, and we want you to join us! This Labor Day season is a great time to show up and show out with us!
Join a Know Your Rights clinic, talk to restaurant workers, or come celebrate DC's official music - gogo - with us! We're bringing our outreach and campaigns right to our community's doorsteps, and we want you to come with us.
We have two events this week that center migrant workers and women in construction. Plus, we have ways for you to support workers in DC and help uplift their voices. Check it all out below!
Women in Construction Know Your Rights with DOL & EEOC
Purpose: to educate the community about their rights in the workplace! It is a Know Your Rights Session with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the U.S. Department of Labor 's Wage And Hour Division (WHD), Women’s Bureau (WB), Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Wage Theft Clinic with Washington Lawyers Committee and Migrant Mutual Aid
Purpose: to center migrant workers and provide them with information and legal wage theft clinic referral to Washington Lawyers Committee.
Come play outside with us: Volunteer!
Turn Up The Wage, Turn Up The Volume Community Event
Purpose: to educate the community about the increase of the tipped minimum and minimum wage, provide various resources to the community while highlighting DC’s cultural music known as GoGo.
Fair Price Fair Wage Outreach
Purpose: to connect with restaurant workers about the attacks on I-82 and collect petition signatures. Help us reach our goal of 500 tipped worker petition signatures.
Greetings from our team in the field!
