About Mr. Patrick Trueman

Patrick devoted his 47-year legal career to preserving decency, protecting the vulnerable, and promoting human flourishing. His professional life spanned both the legislative and judicial sectors, including time as chief of staff to a Member of the United States Congress, as well as Chief Counsel of the Obscenity Law Center, Criminal Division, United States Department of Justice (DOJ), and later as Chief of DOJ’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS).

After leaving the Department of Justice, Patrick provided guidance to the federal government’s Rescue and Restore Anti-Trafficking Campaign, training federal, state, and local law enforcement officials on sex trafficking. As part of this work, Patrick traveled widely, including to countries such as Nicaragua, Qatar, and Romania to speak and train on the issue of sex trafficking and pornography and to deliver papers on the effects of sexual exploitation and violence on culture and family.

In 2010, Patrick became President & CEO of Morality in Media. Under his leadership the organization successfully transitioned to become the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE), an organization with which the most powerful businesses in the world must now reckon for their role in fueling and profiting from sexual abuse and exploitation. Under his guidance, NCOSE also created its Law Center in 2015, which brings litigation against corporate strongholds of sexual exploitation and injustice and seeks justice for survivors.

In addition to honoring Mr. Trueman in his retirement, the Radiating Hope Gala is also a testament to our collective progress as a movement, and a renewed commitment to propelling us forward towards a future imbued with greater human dignity and freedom from sexual exploitation.

Please join us!

Sincerely,
