Hi ,

(Lea este boletín de noticias en español)

This morning, we found ourselves on the backend of an unprecedented storm – less than 24 hours after a 5.1 magnitude earthquake shook our region.

Thanks to our emergency responders and Angelenos who did their part to prepare, I am pleased to report that as of now, there have not been any significant damages or fatalities.

Through our coordinated and collaborative efforts, we have now entered into the recovery phase of this crisis. My commitment to you is that we will approach our recovery with the same intensity as we approached our preparation.

LADWP crews have already mobilized to return power to Angelenos and City crews are responding to road damages, mudslides, and road blockages reported through 311.

Crews will continue to work around the clock to respond –  and we need your help. If you approach a traffic signal that is not operational, treat it as a stop sign. If a traffic officer is at the location, heed their instructions.

As we know, sometimes damages can occur in the hours and days AFTER a storm hits.

Angelenos should continue to stay vigilant and report damages to 311.

I just want to say THANK YOU for staying SAFE and INFORMED throughout this emergency.

As we work to address the ongoing challenges our city faces, I know I have an incredible City family by my side who are proud to serve you and the City we all love.
