Hello Friends and Allies,
I am pleased to invite you to a panel discussion the Anti-Recidivism Coalition is co-hosting with our partners, the Square One Project. The Square One Project recently published a book titled Parsimony and Other Radical Ideas About Justice -- a collection of essays written by leading activists, legal practitioners, and researchers, many of them justice-involved, to envision a justice system that puts forth a new approach to violence and community safety. This event will bring together authors of the book to discuss the framework applied in these essays and we hope you will join us for what is sure to be a lively and insightful discussion about this new era of reform.
I will be moderating this panel and our esteemed panelists are:
- Daryl Atkinson, Co-Director and Co-Founder of Forward Justice
- Katharine Huffman, Director of the Square One Project
- Robert Rooks, Chief Executive Officer of REFORM
- Nneka Tapia, Managing Director of Justice Initiatives, Chicago Beyond
- Jeremy Travis, Senior Fellow, Columbia Justice Lab
This event will open at 5pm and the panel discussion will begin at 5:30pm. The panel discussion will run for a little over an hour and there will be time at the end for any questions you may have. Food and refreshments will be served, and we will be selling and signing copies of the book onsite.
