This is unprecedented, friend.
For the first time ever, three of the United States’ military services are operating without Senate-confirmed chiefs.
That’s because Senator Tuberville is currently blocking all military nominations, including for senior military officers in the Army, Marine Corps, and Navy. It’s a misguided attempt to protest a Department of Defense policy regarding abortion rights, and one Michael has been fighting from the beginning.
We wanted to make sure you saw our email about this issue, and had a chance to sign our petition.
Our service members sacrifice everything to protect this country. The least we can do in return is ensure that they have access to the best possible medical care — including reproductive care. But Senator Tuberville wants to play politics with reproductive care, and our armed forces.
The Senate MUST protect the reproductive rights of service members. Will you join our call by adding your name now? It will only take a minute [[link removed]]

Subject: This is a national security threat
Hi friend –
You may have seen on the news that a Senator from Alabama is currently blocking hundreds of military promotions.
Michael has been fighting this pointless obstruction from the start, and we wanted to take a minute and give you more of the story.
In February, Senator Tuberville, a Republican from Alabama, took the unprecedented step of blocking all military nominations. No member of Congress in American history has ever done this — and Michael was the first Senator to point this out on the Senate floor.
Months later, Tuberville is still blocking our service members from their well-earned promotions — claiming it's in protest of a Department of Defense policy that protects access to reproductive care for women in uniform.
This political game is jeopardizing our national security. His obstruction could prevent as many as 650 nominations, and is stopping the Senate from filling vacancies as high up as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Commandant of the Marine Corps.
These are people who have dedicated their lives to this country — and they deserve nothing less than the best from their nation’s leaders.
To make matters worse, Senator Tuberville is doing this to make women's lives more difficult as they face an intensely personal choice.
He wants to force women in the military to pay their own travel out of state for an abortion, and use their days off to do so.
He wants to make our service members' lives harder, and he must be stopped.
Michael was the first person calling on Senator Tuberville to end this charade. He's been more vocal about it than anyone else — and he won’t stop until this ends.
We created a petition to call on the Senate to protect the reproductive rights of our servicemembers. Will you join us by signing your name? [[link removed]]
