Public asked to report dead sage-grouse during West Nile virus season

CHEYENNE ? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is asking everyone, especially landowners, to report dead sage-grouse so the birds can be tested for West Nile virus. While there are no signs of an outbreak, Game and Fish asks the public annually for reports to help in the management of the state?s sage-grouse populations.

CHEYENNE ? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department needs help from hunters this fall to collect lymph node samples from deer and elk for chronic wasting disease testing. For 2023, samples are requested across Wyoming in key deer and elk hunt areas, and six deer hunt areas are mandatory for samples.
