1. Building more affordable housing. We’re making rapid investments to construct new and affordable housing units in communities across Canada and helping local governments unlock more housing supply by cutting red tape that discourages building new homes.
2. Supporting renters. Through the Canada Housing Benefit, we’re supporting renters with a one-time $500 top-up for Canadian renters who are struggling with the cost of housing.
3. Making the system more fair. We’re banning foreign buyers and cracking down on speculation to ensure Canadians have more access to purchasing homes.
4. Helping young people buy their first home. With the tax-free First Home Savings Account, first-time buyers can save up to $40,000 to put towards the purchase of their first home.
