This is serious, friend.

California researchers just found alarming evidence of PFAS in the blood of pregnant people. PFOS (one of the most dangerous types of PFAS) was detected in 97% of samples tested. The study also links levels of PFOS exposure to gestational diabetes.

This is just one in a long line of studies that have consistently shown maternal exposure to PFAS linked to increased rates of serious health problems in both the child and the mother. And since these chemicals do not break down, without intervention they persist in our environment for decades, increasing the likelihood of harmful exposure.

Despite the scientific evidence, the chemical industry continues to claim that the EPA plan to regulate these chemicals is too strict. The industry downplays the science showing serious health risks.

We can’t let the chemical industry stop our progress and put pregnant people and children at greater risk of health harm. We need 6,232 of our top supporters to respond to our survey before midnight tonight to help us formulate our action plan on PFAS. Can we count on you to step up?

Should the EPA BAN PFAS chemicals?
