John,
We've said it before, and we'll say it again and again: We have so much faith in our mission, and in our candidates, because when choice is on the ballot, choice wins.
Earlier this month, Ohio voters overwhelmingly rejected an anti-choice anti-democracy ballot initiative. This victory mirrored last year's in Kansas, when an anti-choice ballot initiative lost by 18 points.
It likely goes without saying: Ohio and Kansas are not blue states. Donald Trump won in both places — twice. But voters across the political spectrum care about abortion rights.
In order to flip the House, hold the Senate, and protect abortion rights at a local level, we need our candidates to ride this pro-choice wave. Donate now to help support their campaigns.
Now, other states are looking at these big wins in Ohio and Kansas and thinking, hey, we should do that too!
Arizona Democrats are working on a pro-choice ballot measure for 2024, and Illinois could do the same. And, with a big election right around the corner, Virginia Democrats have decided to emphasize the importance of supporting abortion rights. After all, this year's state legislative elections in Virginia will likely decide whether abortion remains legal there, and voters should know what's at stake.
Every EMILYs List supporter should feel especially hopeful about these developments, because when we double down on abortion rights, we bring more pro-choice voters to the polls — and those voters help our women win.
Let's give Democratic pro-choice women the resources they need to take full advantage of this political climate. Chip in today:
