In the span of less than a month, Donald Trump has been indicted twice.
This week’s indictment came from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for Trump’s alleged actions in attempting to overturn the 2020 election. In total, there were 41 charges against 18 co-conspirators. Trump himself was charged with 13 felonies.
Unsurprisingly, Fox News and the right-wing media ecosphere have come out in full force — in defense of Trump.
But this isn't new, John. For years, Fox and other right-wing networks have been pushing near constant dangerous disinformation campaigns and lies that directly led to the January 6th insurrection.
This is why Courier Newsroom’s fact-based and data driven journalism is so important in the age of so much misinformation. And that’s why Courier is committed to expanding our network of newsrooms to the places that need it most.

Subject: The right-wing media is in overdrive to protect Trump

John, since the news broke about Donald Trump’s latest indictment over his attempt to overturn the 2020 election, the right-wing media ecosystem has gone all in on defending Trump’s actions and attacking the Biden administration.
Unfortunately, none of this is new. Media outlets like Fox News, Newsmax, and One America News Network, alongside personalities like Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters, and others, have been working to spread Trump’s Big Lie about the 2020 election from the beginning.
You just have to look to the indictment itself for the evidence. Prosecutors say the false claim that more than 200,000 fake ballots were counted in Pennsylvania was “integral” to Trump’s scheme — a claim that was parroted on Newsmax, OANN, Gateway Pundit, and others.
These claims were never anything more than lies. But now that Trump is once again likely to be the Republican nominee for president, the entire right-wing media ecosystem, led by Fox News, is in hyperdrive to spread more misinformation to protect him.
And that’s exactly why Courier Newsroom exists. Our journalists are committed to correcting the record on right-wing misinformation and providing the full story for our readers.
Thank you,
The Courier Newsroom Team
