This week, First Liberty is participating in a very special event.
And we want YOU, John, to be a part of it also.
Starting today, Americans nationwide will observe #PublicSchoolsWeek, an important celebration that takes place each year to highlight the great things happening in our nation’s public schools.
Of course, one of the many positive things that we are witnessing at this unique moment in history is the unprecedented reclamation of religious liberty and the dawn of new era of religious prosperity in America’s schools that we haven’t seen in many decades.
And for our loyal supporters like you, that’s what this week is all about.
It’s about reassuring students across America that there’s never been a better time than right now to be bold in their faith. Because First Liberty is in their corner, ready to provide elite legal representation, students can go forth and live it out freely when they enter the schoolhouse gates.
And, First Liberty’s legal team has a proven record of reclaiming religious liberty for students who’ve boldly taken a stand for their faith in school—such as our victories on behalf of:
- Hannah Allen, a middle school student who gathered in the lunchroom with her friends to pray for a fellow classmate, but was told by school administrators to go pray behind a curtain—where no one could see her. Thanks to First Liberty’s intervention, the school issued an apology to Hannah and her classmates and reversed its decision.
- Daniela Barca, a high school student who wanted to form a Christian club at her school, but whose application was denied repeatedly by school officials. After First Liberty got involved, the school swiftly reversed its decision and Daniela will now be allowed to form a club with those who share her faith.
- The Kountze Cheerleaders, who were banned from writing encouraging Bible verses in their run-through banners. After years of litigation, First Liberty secured a resounding victory reaffirming their constitutional right to display religious messages.
These are just a small sample of the many reasons (and victories) that give us hope for a bright future for religious liberty.
Yet, it would be a mistake to let our guard down.
Attacks on our students’ religious rights surface constantly. Some of these violations may seem far away and distant, but the truth is that anti-faith groups are so determined to scrub religious expression that an attack can happen to just about anybody...anywhere in the country.
That’s why we need YOU to make your voice heard during this critical campaign.
This week, we’re asking you, our committed supporters, to sign the pledge in support of religious liberty in America’s public schools.
Adding your name to this pledge takes less than a minute...and by doing so, you will be coming alongside thousands of Americans committed to stopping opponents of religious freedom who are brazenly determined to trample on our students’ rights.
John, will you join us by adding your name to this pledge today?
Over the next few days, our team will be sharing with you some of First Liberty’s most important victories on behalf of public school students, teachers and coaches, many of them who stood strong when their freedoms were denied or when they were prevented from living according to their religious convictions.
We encourage you to follow First Liberty Institute on our social media channels, where you’ll be able to learn more about those legal triumphs and the emotive stories of the people we’ve represented.
Our nation’s educational institutions are no place for censorship. Together with you, First Liberty can keep leading the fight for people of faith in America.
Join First Liberty in this national movement—and let’s make sure that students can keep living out their faith freely and openly.
Yes, I will sign the statement of support for religious liberty in our nation’s public schools.
