Enough is enough.

How many more innocent people must die before we admit that gun violence is a public health crisis in the United States and act to stop it?

The House passed significant gun control reforms earlier this year, but Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans refuse to even let it come to the floor for a debate. Meanwhile, white nationalism has become mainstreamed and normalized because of President Trump's hateful and xenophobic words. This kind of rhetoric is driving the type of domestic terrorism we saw in El Paso and Dayton this weekend is a direct threat to our national security.

Every day, people are dying -- we need comprehensive background checks and must remove weapons of war from our streets. If President Trump and Senate Republicans won't step up for the American people, we need to redouble our efforts to turn out at the polls and replace them with leaders who will.
