Friends, it feels like every week there’s more Trump indictment news.
Trump is the first former president in U.S. history to be indicted on criminal charges and has now been indicted four times this year alone.
Earlier this month, Data for Progress released polling following the news of Trump’s third indictment and found that a majority of voters agree with the decision to indict the former president for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results:
Just as we released polling on this third Trump indictment, Trump was indicted for a fourth time. Data for Progress is working on more rapid response polling on Trump’s favorability and we’re asking our supporters to rush a contribution & help fund this urgent polling:
RUSH POLLING
To say these strings of indictments are historic would be an understatement.
Data for Progress polling has consistently shown that voters approve of the different charges against Trump, however, this approval is largely polarized across party lines.
We found that 52% of voters felt Trump’s third indictment related to the January 6 insurrection in the U.S. Capitol is the most serious of the three—but now with a fourth indictment in the mix, we need to touch base with voters again, and see if their attitudes have shifted.
We’re rushing polling into the field right now to see how voters feel about Trump’s fourth indictment and what impact this could have on the 2024 Presidential election. Chip in right now to fund this rapid response poll!
