Upcoming Events   NEWS FROM AUBURN, MAINE   NEW ACCESS TO HIGH SCHOOL & HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION ON TAX BILLS HOMESTEAD EXEMPTIONS 4,363 taxpayers in Auburn receive a Homestead Exemption. If you are one of them, you may have noticed that the "Homestead Exemption" line on your recent property tax bill is blank. The Homestead Exemption appears instead as an “other exemption” on your bill. It is easy to verify that you are receiving your homestead exemption. If the line “other exemptions” has a value of $23,250 or greater, you are receiving it (example at right). We sincerely apologize for any confusion or frustration this has caused. NEW ACCESS TO EDWARD LITTLE HIGH SCHOOL As the City of Auburn’s new high school prepares to open, the city has announced a new traffic pattern for motorists, buses, and pedestrians. At this time, the only entrance and exit for the new high school will be via Western Avenue. What has been previously known as “Auburn Heights” will be re-named Harris Street and will lead to the new school building. Signage will be in place to direct traffic. The previous Harris Street/Fairmount Avenue/Forest Avenue entrances will not be accessible due to ongoing construction and demolition of the old school building.       City of Auburn 60 Court Street Auburn, Maine 04210 (207) 333-6601 Email Us   City of Auburn | 60 Court Street, Auburn, ME 04210 Unsubscribe [email protected] Constant Contact Data Notice Sent by [email protected]
