Money well spent? Congress has funded the Ukrainian war effort to the tune of $113 billion, yet when it comes to aiding Americans in disaster-stricken Hawaii, it pulls the purse strings tight. 

• The $113 billion for Ukraine equates to “$900 per American household and almost 12 times the spending cuts promised by House leadership in the annual spending bills,” says Richard Stern, director of Heritage’s Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget.

Disaster: As Hawaii smolders and hurricane season picks up, President Joe Biden has tied up FEMA Disaster Relief Fund money with billions of additional funds for Ukraine.
