Lenton Community Festival
lenton
Lenton Community Festival took place on the 25th of June at the Lenton Recreation Ground, supported by Lenton and Wollaton East Councillors and supported by local community groups and activists. The event had a number of activities for all ages including a bouncy castle and face painting for kids as well as information stalls for a number of different services and live music.

Repainting Lenton Drives
Repainting of double yellow lines and bays took place in the Lenton drives as the existing lines were fainted and there were enforcement concerns there.

Roadwork Updates
Patching work and road works have taken place in a number of Wollaton Park and Lenton Abbey roads and pavements and the trees at Middleton Boulevard have received a first basal cut in the beginning of summer to ensure traffic safety for motorists coming out of side-roads and into the slip road.

Streets for People programme making good progress
Streets for people
*Over 70 resurfacing schemes have been completed so far across the city.*
In 2021, the council successfully bid as part of a competitive process for money from the Government’s Levelling Up fund to improve streets and local town centres, and make walking and cycling easier and safer.
Nottingham City Council has approved £11million of improvements to make our neighbourhoods greener, safer, better places to get around. Streets that have been improved so far include:
* *Roads* - Arnesby Road, Broughton Drive and Church Street
* *Paths* - Austrey Avenue, Hawton Spinney and Olton Avenue
We are also setting money aside for tree work and bin replacements. You can find out more by visiting the streets for people website [ [link removed] ].
