Following the 5.1 magnitude earthquake in Ventura, our Los Angeles Fire Department reported no damage or injuries in the City of Los Angeles. This is a reminder that earthquakes can happen at any time.
Earlier today at the Emergency Operations Center, I was joined by California Governor Gavin Newson, Chair of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Janice Hahn, City Council President Paul Krekorian, Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley, and other leaders for an update on Tropical Storm Hilary and the City’s response to the recent earthquake.
Through a coordinated response, our region is facing the impacts of this storm and unprecedented emergencies together. Please do your part to stay safe and informed for the duration of this crisis.
Report and seek services
Report any downed power wires by calling 911. Never touch a downed wire.
Report storm impacts like roadway flooding, downed tree limbs, or mudslides through LACity.gov/Myla311 by calling 311 or via the MyLA311 app.
Report power outages at LADWP.com/Outages. Customers can call 1-800-DIAL-DWP for water main breaks.
As I said earlier today, our emergency departments are unparalleled – so when an unprecedented disaster, or disasters, hit, know that Los Angeles is ready.
