Good morning, Today's Texas Minute is devoted to some horn-blowing and opportunity announcing. Put succinctly: Empower Texans is growing and expanding.
- When the speaker of the Texas House and his cronies attempted to ensnare us in a scandal, they wanted to drag us into their sewer-like culture. After all, they detest principle-driven accountability that puts self-governing citizens – not self-serving politicians – at the pinnacle of civic life. And, yes, several weak-kneed Republican officials sought to aid the sewer by using their power and influence to drive away donors.
- Oops.
- The last nine months have seen Empower Texans and our premier projects Texas Scorecard and Texans for Fiscal Responsibility grow like never before. We have more subscribers, monthly donors, and active donors than ever in our history.
- As such, we are expanding our staff in several distinct ways: a paid summer fellowship program, a new senior-level staff position, 1836 Studios staffing, neighborhood engagement specialists, and new development team members.
- If you’d like to support in this expansion effort, make a special contribution today!
- To build out the next generation of freedom fighters, we have launched the Empower Texans Formation Fellowship. This is an intensive 10-week paid summer program for Texans under the age of 25 with an interest in public policy, conservative activism, political accountability, and Texas history.
- Successful applicants must demonstrate a commitment to foundational conservative principles, strong character, and a committed work ethic in order to be competitive.
- The program requires a full-time commitment from June 1st to August 7th, 2020, at the Empower Texans offices in central Texas. Fellows will be paid a $5,000 stipend, divided in three installments, for the duration of their fellowship.
- We are opening a national search for the newly created Director of Marketing and Community Engagement. This senior-level position will be tasked with building out the brands of Empower Texans in furtherance of its mission to advance the principles of self-governance in the Lone Star State.
- A successful applicant must have professional experience outside the world of government and politics, but a proven track record of philosophical engagement on issues and for candidates.
- Speaking of engagement... we have created several new positions focused on neighborhood engagement and canvassing. These positions require great “at the door” personalities, because they will be literally at the doors of their fellow Texans all day long.
- Successful applicants must demonstrate a commitment to foundational conservative principles, strong character, and a committed work ethic in order to be competitive. They will need to love every nook and cranny of the Lone Star State... and be willing to spend a lot of days on the road!
- We are expanding the technical staff of the 1836 Studios. We're looking for an Audio/Visual specialist who can work with the team in producing podcasts and live-video content.
- In addition to technical proficiency and relevant experience, a successful applicant must be committed to the cause of liberty.
- I am a bit biased, but we have the best donors in Texas, and therefore in America and the world. They stand up to threats and intimidation from Austin cronies, by pushing against the creep of leftist ideology and idolatry. The Empower Texans team literally could not do what we do without you!
- Therefore, we are expanding our development team members. We are creating two entry-level positions who will serve our existing donors while visiting with new folks we meet through events, at the door, and online.
- As above, successful applicants must demonstrate a commitment to foundational conservative principles, strong character, and a committed work ethic in order to be competitive. They must also have strong verbal and written communications skills, an ability to use databases, and an interest in social media.
Those interested in the positions noted above should send their resume and introductory letter to: [email protected]. Individuals applying for the Formation Fellowship must do so on our website, not via email.
