John,
July was the hottest month ever recorded -- and likely the hottest month that humans have experienced on the planet. Wildfires are still raging in Maui, with 1,000 people still missing and over 100 people dead.
The climate crisis is here and it’s killing people.
Please sign if you agree: It’s time for President Biden to declare a climate emergency.

Rep. Cori Bush has led the call in Congress for President Biden to live up to his campaign promises to protect our environment and mitigate the worst effects of the climate crisis.
Biden has authority under existing law to immediately stop fossil fuel expansion and declare a climate emergency to speed up a just transition to renewable energy. But his administration continues to approve new fossil fuel infrastructure, pipelines, and leases -- even violating Native sovereignty in the process.
Cori Bush has successfully pushed the President to use the Defense Production Act to invest in renewable energy and good green jobs, and has secured hundreds of millions of dollars for federal climate action and public transportation infrastructure.
Fossil fuel projects fuel the climate crisis while disproportionately polluting Black, brown, Indigenous, and low-income communities. That leads to disparities such as those in Cori’s district, where Black children are hospitalized for asthma at ten times the rate of white children.
So Cori has pushed for investments in frontline marginalized communities across the country with her bill, the Environmental Justice Mapping and Data Collection Act, which was signed into law.
But we need to do so much more to prevent the worst impacts of climate change. We are living in a climate emergency and we must use every resource at our disposal.
Please sign if you agree: President Biden must declare a climate emergency now.
In solidarity,
Team Cori
