Friend, I have one question for you today, ketchup or mustard?
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, please give me a moment to explain:
Every year during the Illinois State Fair, the age-old debate of whether ketchup or mustard is the better condiment to top onto the fair’s famous corn dogs resurfaces.
Friend, if you can’t tell from the photo above, I’m clearly team mustard.
And while the State Fair is a great place to indulge in our favorite summertime snacks, it’s also one of our longest, most popular ongoing traditions, highlighting our agricultural industry and the hard work of Illinois farmers.
We all might not agree on how we like to eat our corn dogs, but I think it’s safe to say that we all believe our farmers are crucial to our district — and as the people who keep our communities running, they should be supported and protected.
That’s why I’m working to find common ground with my colleagues to pass legislation like the 2023 Farm Bill to benefit farmers, bring more people into the agricultural workforce, and keep rural economies strong.
Even if you’re a ketchup person, I hope we can commit to making progress for farmers across IL-13 and our entire country. So what do you say, friend, will you chip in $5 or any amount to my reelection campaign today?
