Friend,
In 2020, Congress took action to make school lunch free for all public school students – regardless of their family’s economic status.
But at the beginning of the 2022-23 school year, these school lunch waivers expired – and now, NPR reports show that fewer students are getting lunch at school.
Children facing hunger are more likely to repeat a grade in elementary school, have developmental impairments or delays, and have more social and behavioral problems – all of which make them more vulnerable to entering the school-to-prison pipeline.
So we’re gathering signatures to call for free school lunches nationwide – because no child should go hungry. Add your name right now >>
