Dear MoveOn member,
Librarians are under attack.
Ever since MAGA Republicans began their campaign to ban books, censor dissent, and silence the freedom of expression, librarians around the country are being shouted at, vilified, reported to the police, and trolled online, leaving many fearing for their safety.1
In some cases, librarians are even facing death threats. One librarian received the following online message: "We know where you work + live....u have a LARGE target on ur back. Click... Click... See you soon."2
We must fight back against these fascist book bans and show librarians our support and appreciation for the important work they do.
Which is why MoveOn has printed a huge batch of "Support Your Local Librarians" stickers and is giving them away for free—while supplies last.

John, librarians do critical work to help all of us understand each other and embrace our shared humanity. To learn accurate accounts of U.S. history that enable us to better understand the experiences of people who are different from us.
Instead of celebrating librarians, the far right is attacking them with baseless lies.
In addition to terrifying threats, librarians in some states now face years of imprisonment and tens of thousands of dollars in fines for providing what the MAGA Republicans believe to be sexually explicit, obscene, or "harmful" books to children under a spate of new state laws that permit criminal prosecution of school and library personnel.3
The Houston Chronicle reported that the police have been called to Texas school and public libraries at least five times since 2021 to examine books for illegal content.4
John, let's join together to support our local librarians who are on the front lines of the MAGA war against books that talk about race and sexual identity or expression.
Click here to get your free sticker and put it somewhere visible for people to see.
Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? Book bans have skyrocketed thanks to right-wing state laws which have forced teachers to remove books from their classrooms. In response, MoveOn is launching a "Banned Bookmobile," filling it with books that the far right has banned, and driving it around to hand out those books, for free, in highly trafficked areas that will attract media attention. To keep the Banned Bookmobile up and running into 2024, we need your help.
Will you chip in to power our critical work?
