A living wage.

 

In the past 10 years, the cost of living has skyrocketed across the country, while our federal minimum wage has remained the same. In every state, there are workers struggling to pay rent and put food on the table — even when working two, three, or four different jobs.

 

That's why I'm demanding Congress raise the minimum wage for millions of American workers.

 

Will you ensure that our federal minimum wage keeps pace with our economy by signing my petition?

 

 

And, to the naysayers who say that raising the minimum wage will hurt businesses, I say: if you cannot afford to pay workers a living wage, you cannot afford to be in business.

 

Between the strength of our current economy and the continuing rise of wealth inequality, there has never been a more urgent time for Congress to take action on the federal minimum wage.
