MEETING WITH THE SIOUXLAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AGRICULTURE COMMITTEE From my Agriculture Advisory Board to the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee, meeting with farmers, producers, and other stakeholders is important to me for the upcoming Farm Bill. That's why I introduced the Protecting Girls with Turner Syndrome Act to protect unborn babies diagnosed with Turner syndrome from indiscriminate abortions and medical malpractice. As a devout Christian and a father of four, I will continue to support policies that defend the sanctity of life and protect the right to life for all. To secure American energy independence, we must use an “all-of-the-above” approach to energy production, including power generation from wind. I will continue my work in Congress to make sure that we are not reliant on our adversaries for energy, and that the U.S. becomes an energy exporter once again. SPEAKING WITH THE COON RAPIDS ROTARY I had a great time speaking to the Coon Rapids Rotary over lunch on my 36 County Tour. We covered the upcoming Farm Bill, the Ways and Means economic package, and my support for the Neighborhood Homes Investment Act to build and rehabilitate more homes in rural Iowa. FIGHTING BACK AGAINST MEXICO'S BASELESS IOWA CORN BAN Because we negotiated the successful USMCA trade agreement, Mexico has no right to reject American corn exports. I had the opportunity to see my friend, Colton, who was showing his cow; meet with folks from Christensen Farms and discuss issues impacting our pork producers; and serve delicious Iowa eggs to fairgoers at the Iowa Egg Council booth. I hope that you can get down to Des Moines for all the fun! MY WEEKLY COLUMN: LOWERING HOUSING COSTS FOR AMERICAN FAMILIES Economic hardship caused, in large part, by President Biden’s wasteful spending policies and misguided attacks on American energy production recently broke another record. Even worse, there is no indication that this upward trajectory will reverse course in the coming months – spelling disaster for American families who want to purchase a home and plant their roots. While President Biden continues to tout his tone-deaf “Bidenomics” agenda, I am working on solutions to help our families achieve the dream of homeownership without breaking the bank.
