JTF-50 Searches through Maui Wildfire Devastation by SPC Sean Walker
US Army Pacific & Hawaii National Guard Continue the Search
As the death toll continues to climb in the wake of the Lahaina fires, Service Members are not giving up the search for survivors.
Joint Task Force 5-0 has been established to continue the response to the massive wildfire that has been named the deadliest U.S. wildfire in over 100 years. This coordinated response includes almost 700 DOD personnel—active, guard, reserve, and civilian—and 140 Coastguardsmen. Read more about JTF-50 and how they are helping on the ground. Soldiers' Angels is still actively working to support those on the ground through financial donations as well as donations of gift cards to major retailers located on Maui. The donations will be used for critical items such as water, clothing, food, etc. Soldiers' Angels also stands ready to support the National Guard families who have been directly affected by the fires as they continue the journey to recover and rebuild.
In addition, Soldiers' Angels is working directly with the Honolulu VA to provide hygiene kits and box lunches that will be utilized at clinics and Vet Centers in Maui.

Operation: Warm Winter
Our current campaign, Operation: warm Winter (formerly the Blanket Drive) is halfway over... but we're nowhere near halfway to our goal! We get it... it's SUPER hot outside for most of the country... so even thinking about cold weather seems impossible. But... soon enough, winter temperatures will be here, and homeless Veterans living on the streets, especially those in colder Northern states, will be at risk of enduring freezing temperatures with little to no protection.
Let's change that.
Collect, buy, make, or donate toward Operation: Warm Winter and help us reach our goal of collecting 2,000 winter items for homeless Veterans!

Adopt-A-Family Now Supports E1-E6 Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserves

Believe it or not, the holidays are once again right around the corner--which means Adopt-A-Family holiday support is nearly here. This year, we are excited to announce that we are expanding the program to include support for E1-E6 Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserves families. The program will still continue supporting families of E1-E6 deployed Service Members, Veteran families enrolled in the HUD/VASH program, and Families of Post-9/11 wounded, ill, and injured Service Members and Veterans. Thanks to the continued growth in support we have witnessed from the groups, individuals, and businesses that line up to "adopt" these military-connected families, we are ready to increase the number of families we support with this expansion of eligibility!

Volunteers Are the Heart of Soldiers' Angels Food Distributions
Although providing food to someone in need may sound like a straightforward action, it's quite an undertaking to prepare for a Soldiers' Angels Military and Veteran Food Distribution! One that we could not do if it were not for the incredible volunteers who have truly become the heart and soul of our food distribution events!
In cities across the country, volunteers of all different backgrounds come together once a month to complete a critical mission: provide food assistance to our Nation's Service Members and Veterans.
These volunteers show up to make a difference through rain, heat, snow, and sleet. Sorting tens of thousands of pounds of food, packing hundreds of grocery bags, loading cars, and, of course, providing a smile, handshake, or a "Thank You for Your Service."
We are so grateful for the continuous efforts of the amazing volunteers who come out each month.
Thank you to all who have supported these events! If you're interested in volunteering at a future event, click through to learn more now!

The Soldiers' Angels San Antonio team has been busy creating a garden for Veteran patients at the Polytrauma Transitional Rehab Program [[link removed]] (PTRP). This twelve-bed facility is for mild to moderate brain injury patients and acts as a place for rehabilitation before returning home. Reestablishing a therapeutic garden on the property has been a dream for the facility and we could not be more proud of our volunteers who helped turn that dream into reality.

It’s hard to ignore the crazy stunts people pull on social media channels like TikTok and Instagram. Unfortunately, many of these challenges end poorly: injury, hospitalization, or worse. But it doesn’t have to be this way! We’ve got a challenge for youth that’s healthier and more impactful than the One Chip Challenge, the Savage dance, or the dangerous, banned ones we will not speak of: youth fundraising.
