Team, the scenes coming from Hawai’i are devastating.
The deadliest U.S. wildfire in over 100 years has destroyed entire communities on the island of Maui, including the town of Lāhainā. Thousands have lost their homes and businesses. More than a hundred lives have been lost, and thousands more are still unaccounted for.
My heart is with the victims, their families and loved ones, and the entire Maui community. The road to recovery will be a long one, but one of the best ways we can help right now is by supporting organizations providing relief for those impacted by these catastrophic wildfires.
The Hawai‘i Community Foundation set up the Maui Strong Fund to provide financial resources that can be deployed quickly, with a focus on rapid response and recovery efforts.
Aloha United Way has also established a relief fund to help meet the Maui community’s most urgent needs.
If you can, I hope you’ll join me in supporting the Maui community today with a donation to the Hawai’i Community Foundation and Aloha United Way. Any amount you’re able to give today will make an impact.
Thank you for giving, if you can.
