This week: Three long-awaited studies released by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health found a link between proximity to fracking and increased cancer rates, asthma attacks and low birth weight.

Also, Mayor Ed Gainey and chief of police Larry Scirotto oppose a city-funded study's suggestion to shift 188 patrol officers to more specialized roles, putting them at odds with activists who urge more drastic police reform.
