I'm deeply passionate about my work. And my passion for change is greatly inspired by my family. If you have children, you understand how fast they grow up and how precious shared moments can be. My children are a huge inspiration for why I so vigorously fight for the future of central Florida.

In the summer of 2016, I was already deeply concerned by the horrific gun violence happening at schools across the country. Then a shooter entered the Pulse nightclub here in central Florida and murdered 49 innocent people. I was shaken to my core. Then, our Republican congressman at the time cashed a check from the NRA just two days after the shooting. That's when I decided that if we were going to change Washington, we had to change the type of people we sent to Washington.

So, I filed to run for office and ran a four-month campaign to unseat a 24-year incumbent -- and then earned re-election just two years later. You've stood with me in the fight to change a broken Washington and to put people over politics. It's a fight I'm proud to help lead, but my work isn't over yet. Can I count on you to support the hard work I'm doing by contributing to my re-election campaign today?

Every day when I go to work I think about the trust that the people of Florida's 7th District have placed in me. And I remember -- I'm not just representing them -- I'm one of them. I'm not just fighting for their children's futures -- I'm fighting for my children's futures too because all children deserve a fair shot at the American Dream.

We've accomplished so much in the past two years, from overturning the ban on gun violence research, to protecting health care for thousands, to cleaning up Florida's beaches and waterways -- and we're just getting started! There's a reason I've consistently been named one of the most effective members of Congress. It's because I'll work with anyone who will work with me, and I never back down from doing what's right.

But now, nine Republican opponents are challenging me to provide President Trump another rubber-stamp vote in Congress. If one of them is successful, much of our hard-earned progress could be reversed. So I'm asking, will you support my re-election by donating today, so I can continue to fight for all of us?
