Dear reader,

23% of GGWash’s annual budget comes from donations and fundraising events – and those contributions fund the majority of our editorial work.

This week, we published stories that dug into the history of our region and the individual experience of moving through urban places. Who knew that Dave Thomas Circle has been a problem since the 1890’s or that in the 1930’s, critics called Greenbelt a “Communist town”? Why do some urban spaces move us with their poignancy…and what does it take for our transit system to move us to the places we need to go?

These stories reach thousands of screens thanks to your help. This month, we're asking supporters to become recurring donors and we just started selling tickets for our Fall Mixer. I check our donor report at least five times per day and every time I read those names, I feel a deep mix of joy, gratitude, and awe knowing that more people have chosen to make the work to create an accessible, equitable, and sustainable region a priority.

It's awe-inspiring to know and see and feel that, with their gifts to support GGWash’s work, hundreds of people are saying, "We got you, because we know you got this."
