Today, Francesca’s warm eyes brim with hope. You would never know the pain she suffered as a teenager after being held against her will in a hotel and exploited for sex. Your support helped rescue Francesca from the horrors she endured and set her on the path to becoming the humanitarian warrior she is today. Francesca is a founding member of “Cicatrices de Oro” (Scars of Gold), a local chapter of the Global Survivor Network. She uses her voice tirelessly to advocate for other children who have been exploited and fight for those who still need freedom.

Azalea was tricked into online sexual exploitation at 14 years old by a trusted neighbor who helped pay for medicine for her youngest sibling. But thanks to you, the darkness she endured at that young age does not define her. Today, fully restored from the trauma she experienced, Azalea has become a fearless survivor leader in the Philippine Survivor Network. A ray of hope for other survivors of modern slavery, Azalea bravely advocates for change in the Philippines and dreams of becoming a lawyer to defend those who are oppressed.

Mahantesh's story is one of resilience and hope. Growing up on the streets, he was forced to beg for money to survive. Experiencing firsthand what many others in poverty must endure to live, he made it his life’s purpose to help others. Mahantesh joined the IJM team in 2011 and quickly embraced the role of Head of Program Partnerships, helping expand IJM's impact across South Asia. Being a vital part of rescuing and restoring women and girls like Francesca and Azalea is something Mahantesh cherishes deeply.
