The Modjeska House and Gardens in Modjeska Canyon is named after actress Helena Modjeska, and her home served as a refuge for her when she was not traveling for her career.

I appreciate the Orange County Parks team showing me around and working tirelessly to preserve this CA-40 treasure!

As the mom of three proud Titan graduates, California State University, Fullerton is always near and dear to my heart. This week, I joined my colleagues to welcome Prime Minister Kishida and President Yoon to the United States for the Trilateral Leaders Summit at Camp David. As the United States strengthens our already strong alliances with both Japan and South Korea, elevating our trilateral relationship is key to maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific and a rules-based international order.

I also sent two letters to President Biden ahead of the trilateral summit, including:

A bicameral letter with Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) urging President Biden to ensure energy cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region is discussed during the trilateral summit.

A bipartisan letter with Rep. Joaquin Castro (TX-20) urging President Biden to include global development and health cooperation in the summit agenda.

This week, I was proud to join with House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul (TX-10) in welcoming Taiwanese Vice President William Lai to the United States. I had the pleasure of meeting him last April during my travel to Taiwan. Taiwan is a model democracy in the Indo-Pacific and a key U.S. partner. It is important that the United States and its allies stand with Taiwan by expanding our economic and defense relationship. I will always support Taiwan and ensure we promote peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and a free and open Indo-Pacific.
